Hey guys! DSR will be walking around Deakin Burwood campus on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (O-WEEK) taking sign ups for DSR 2012! Membership is $5 for DUSA members and $10 for non DUSA members... Keep an eye out for the dudes in snow gear!
This is a yearly membership, so please come in and sign up if you would like to continue being a DSR in 2012!
We had the snow trip of 2012 at Mt Buller last year renting a whole floor at the Avalanche Lodge, and everyone LOVED it! so come find us and join in on the upcoming festivities!!!

Welcome to 2012!
It's looking to be a big year for DSR in 2012, and were starting off with an annual general meeting for all members on 23rd February @ Rococo restaurant in Hawthorn. Hope many of you can make it!
We are currently planning our events and snow trips for 2012 and would love for member input on where and when they would like to head!
Our first event for the year will be the showing of "The Art of Flight" the new Red Bull snowboarding movie starring Travis Rice in some of the furthest and best snowboard terrain in the world! Will keep you posted!
Also, DSR is sad to announce the leave of Dani Stephens, our Vice President and Secretary, and will be looking for a fresh new member to join our executive team to fill this position.

MT BULLER 2011 - FULL!
Hey all,
Just letting everyone know that the snow trip is now totally FULL!
All 26 spaces in the loft at the Avalanche Lodge at Mt Buller have been filled and further details will be sent to all attending members as soon as everything is finalised.
REMEMBER;
Bus leaves at Southern Cross Station at 8.30am SHARP! Friday 22nd July! Don't Miss it!

MOUNT BULLER SNOW TRIP 2011!
OK Kiddiewinkles,
The 2011 MOUNT BULLER TRIP is looking good for July - starting Friday the 22nd and finishing late Sunday the 24th (during Victorian Inter-varsity Snow Sports Championships!). This can be a ski/snowboard trip or a party trip ... what ever you want it to be. We'll be staying at the Avalanche Alpine Lodge and there will be share rooms sleeping four in each - its intended purpose is uni groups. Each room has two beds on one level and two more on a mezzanine level, plenty of space and quite private. The loft also has a lounge, kitchen and dining area.Everyone will have access to all facilities, including the spa and sauna at the more expensive lodge (100 m down the road). The mountain has nightlife every night of the week and Avalanche's cosy late night bar (our bar!) is the after hours venue of choice. In other words, the fun is guaranteed. Themed night to be arranged! For those of you who haven't been before, this lodge belongs to a friend so the prices for our weekend are at cheaper low season midweek prices. Of course we all know the mountain books out fast during ski season so the lodge will be needing advance payment to confirm bookings. Transport is currently being organised. Stay tuned for updates.

Share rooms (4 People in each room) - $150 each for two nights, three days. Cheap!!!
Lift tickets:
Tertiary - approx $80, as its 20% off for lift tix and ski hire.
Adult - approx $100.
These will be available for individual purchase on the days, as some people may want to ski three days, some one or two. This way your are not spending extra money on days you would prefer NOT to ski.
Transfers:
bus and carpooling; prices tbc.

Preferred Payment method- To my personal account, I will them pay the organisers in a bulk payment straight from my account, this is the way we have done things in the past and it proves to be the most efficient way, although if you are not comfortable with this, other arrangements can be made. I will provide all registered competitors with my bank details once I have their registrations.

The Deakin Snow Riders (DSR) is a club where people with a similar interest in skiing, snowboarding and alpine life can get together to share their passion for this high country environment. The club provides opportunities for members to participate in several social functions in Melbourne as well as providing trip opportunities to the snowfields and high country.
Deakin Snow Riders also have one of the best active social programs out there - huge parties, snow days, movie nights and heaps more!
